the field where a game of post-office was going on. Eunice Hammond came from Lopez Island to join us that year. It wasn't long before she had pggk- ed Zane Krumdiack for her boy friend, but larilyn King caused a littlekmoub- le there Cfor a whilel. SEVENTH GRADE we were really a class that year, it took two teachers to do the job. Mrs. Sandwith taught us the first half and Mrs. Crocker the second. Every- body had lots of fun when the Jr. High gave the operetta nTreasure Island ,' and the girls were always flirting with the Big 9th grade boys. Gene Card caused a little excitement that year. One day he was playing with matches druing class and his pen caught fire in his pocket. When the smoke started rolling out the teacher grabbed his pen and threw it out the window--she almost threw him out too. EIGHTH GRADE This was a year full of activities for us. There was the Jr. High Jam- boree, we gave a play for the Student Body, the Glee Club, under Mrs. Epp's direction sang over the radio in Bellingham, and last but not least there was the big Basket Social in the gym, A11 the girls were afraid to look when the baskets were being auctioned off and than everyone relaxed when lr. Wolfley bought Jean Landahl's We lost Harlene Lightheart when she moved to Seattle and we gained that quiet little boy, Hughie Roberts, NINTH GRADE Now we were really the big shots of Jr. High. we gave the play 'Daphne Is So Delicaten for the P. T, A. with Eunice playing the part of delicate, little Daphne. Once M , Wolfley caused quite a sensation when he went around all day with his pant leg caught up in his garter. Two new students joined us that year--they were Nancy Boe and Charles Schlag. TENTH GRADE At last we had reached High School and what fun it was! One bright Sunday afternoon we all took a hike over Cady Mountain and of course we sep- arated and got lost. Then we finally found each other and Boyd King cooled himself off in the lake. we gave our 'Penny-aPoundu dance that year and really raked in the money. And everyone remembers the big sneak- Seems there were some Soph. girls who like to play hockey too. Lucretia McKay and Maxine Hall left us, and much to several girl's regret Zane decided he'd had enough schooling. But Gary Ullerick helped make up for the losses when he came herefrom The Dalles, Oregon. ELEVENTH GRADE Two new members added to our class this year were Don Lowe and Cora Bennett, but Jean Landahl had joined the Seniors. With trips to Orcas for basketball games, a Junior Dinner, several parties, the Prom and Banquet, the year passed quickly and we had become nM15htz Seniorggn TWELVETH GRADE When we were gathered together again the next September we found that class had decreased in number somewhat. Ruth Tuck and Cora Bennett had left us to get married.
