History High school began for us in September. 1953. under the advisory leadership of Mrs. Lillian Dewing. Officers elected for the freshman year were: President, Charles Carlson; Vice-President, Daniel Anderson; Secretary, Betty Becker; Trea¬ surer, John Covey; Student Council Representatives, Marian Clark and Kenneth Juul. Our first social event was a skating party, followed in February by a class- sponsored Valentine Dance. We sent two of our very talented classmates Kay Benson and Kenneth Juul, to the Student Council Talent Show. Our first year was a successful start. With Mr. Letro as our adviser, we began our sophomore year. Broken in to the facts of high school life, we were ready for anything to come our way. Officers elected for the year were: President, Charles Carlson; Vice-President, Sandra Lanphere; Secretary, John Covey; Treasurer, Laura. Sweatman; Student Council Representatives, Donna Thurston and Kenneth Juul. Activities of our sophomore year included a “Soc Hop”, popcorn and candy sales at home basketball games, and an “April Showers” dance. Activities that we like to remember with special emphasis were the sale of Christmas wreaths, “Be Kind to Seniors Day”, “Little Bop Riding-Hood”, five percent interest on unpaid class dues (thanks to Ken), and the well-known Volume I of the “Bear Facts”. But above all, we shall always remember “Arsenic and Old Lace” given at F.C.S. In September, 1955, we started the third quarter of our high school career w ' ith Miss Elaine Johnson as our class adviser. Officers elected for the junior year were: President, Charles Carlson; Vice-President, Sandra Lanphere; Sec¬ retary, John Covey; Treasurer, Bruce Kidder; Student Council Representatives, Alicia Holmquist and Alan Shures. Activities for the year 1955 - 1956 included the sale of Christmas wreaths, the junior prom, our play, You Can’t Kiss Caroline”, directed by Miss Johnson, and the junior-senior picnic. At our final junior year meeting, we elected our class officers for the senior year, another first to our credit. The officers chosen for the Year of Fulfillment were: President, John Covey; Vice-President, Laura Sweatman; Secretary, Ethelyn Johnson; Treasurer, Alicia Holmquist; Student Council Representatives, Winifred Dowd and Shayne Munger. Our adviser for the all-important year was Mr. Otto Guli assisted in many instances by Mrs. Helen Donaldson. Activities ' for the year included magazine sales, ice-cream sales, dancing lessons, LTnited Nations dinner sponsorship, and the senior play, “Bolts and Nuts”, under the direction of Mrs. Donaldson. For one of our most important jobs, the production of the yearbook, Bruce Kidder was chosen as editor. At present we are looking forward to the trip to Washington, Class Night, and Baccalaureate. Beyond these, among the lights of our fortune, lies one star on which is written “COMMENCEMENT”. Our four years here have been full of learning and activity. Some parts of these years will be forgotten, but none of us can ever forget all that these years at Frewsburg Central have meant to us.
