JUNIOR CLASS llSay, fellows, the editors of the yearbook have asked us to give them a resumee . . . resumay . . . well, a summary of our Junior year. That ought to be easy but of course we may run out of adjectives describing the activities of such an up and coming class. Bless me they,ve given us only a page and how we can ever do justice on one page I donlt know, Well, here goes. Letvs see, weall want to tell about rustling around and electing as ftne a set of ofhcers as youvll hnd: Harold Johnson for President; Leo Bennett7 our iron man for Vice President; Linwood Matthews for Treas- urer; and Lillian Hanson as secretary to record our phenomenal progress. Smart thing we did when we elected Leo Bennett to represent us on the student council, too. They,ll want to know that our yearbook representative is Lil- lian Hanson. Everybody knows what a successful thing we made of the magazine con- test this year but they probably donlt know that we made $46 out of it. Mustnat forget to tell about our magazine contest party either. Remember Mr. Anderson leading the Grand March and Frew and Gibbs winning the Treasure Hunt? . . . just a couple of Kidds. Well, I swam7 going over these records here it looks as though weave had our fingers in every pie. Yes sir, we,Ve helped with Student Association parties and weave had a Valentine Party of our own. And then there was the time we took advantage of the fine winter weather tand the horsesl and went for a Student Association Sleigh- ride Which turned out to be the best five mile walk we ever had. In all things we have modestly given the credit to the other classes but when the Junior play uBashful Mr. Bobbsf7 came along and made us a profit of $55 and proved very entertaining besides tat least everybody said so, and confidentially we thought so tool we just had to admit that ours had been the brains and power behind all the other good things that have been done here since we were Freshmen. Say, now that sounds right nice if I do say it myself. What else shall I say, fellows? Now that I7ve scratched the surface 17m sort of getting into the spirit of the thing. I could tell them how brilliant we are individually. N0, Illl just tell them weare colossal, superb, magnificent twords fail me and modesty doesn7t permitl . . . in other words welre goodlll VGADABOUT FOR1936

President, Carolyn Danielson as Secretary, and Wraiter Stanton as Treasurer. Class pins were purchased and blue and gold were chosen as class colors. At the first meeting in September of the year 1934-1935, under the able supervision of its second faculty advisor, Mr. George J. Vetter, election of oiiicers took place. The group was led by the President, Barbara Mahnquist, assisted by the Vice President, Eugene Rockwood, the Secretary, Ruth Weber, and the Treasurer, Albert Mattson. At the beginning the class numbered ap- proximately fifty members. It was decided to keep the same colors and the t'orget-me-not was chosen as the class Hower. During the year the number of members dwindled considerably. However, its loss in number was compen- sated by an increased activity. ' When school convened in September, 1935, the first routine business transacted was the election of officers. The class chose Betty Fenton as Presi- dent, Eugene Rockwood was re-eieeted Vice President, Lillian Watkins was chosen Secretary and Mary Guild, Treasurer. Miss Mary H. Frew is the faculty advisor at present. Due to her untiring efforts, the success of the Class was made possible. When the Student Association was organized, a member of the Sopho- more class, Marjorie Larson, was chosen by the group as secretary. Walter Stanton was chosen by the Class as Sophomore representative on the Student Council. In February the class gave a party in the High School Auditorium with the faculty as invited guests. Dancing and games were enjoyed. Refresh ments were served by a committee. The honor roll has had the names of many members of the class on it. Many of the members have found the time in addition to maintaining a good standing to engage in extra-eurricular activities. The majority of these peo- ple belong to the music organizatiOHSethe chorus7 orchestra, and band. Those inclined along athletic lines have become members of the girls, basketball, bays7 basketball, or baseball teams and have won recognition for their school in this manner. The class hopes to hold its present members to the end and to finish up with the distinction of being one Of the largest classes to he graduated from Frewshurg High School. FOR 1936
