Swing means gayety, freedom, a lighter step through life, but it also means a resilience to the shocks of life and a return to normal with strength and courage . . . traits which seem to typify the youth of 1938. This nobler thought behind the spirit of the age is the theme which finds its way into the design, the buoyanee, the rhythm of the 1938 Teehniealities.

COMPILING the memory-stirring pictures and records of a school year is labor turned to joy in direct propor- tion to the amount of happiness to be dispersed. Enactment of the Student Body Card at Fresno Technical High increased student participation in all activi- ties, and the annual sale by at least one hundred copies. Early assurance of funds to meet the proposed expenditures was given the staff by the student body council. To the student body council and to the students who vested the council with power to institute the Student Body Card system, the staff expresses its gratitude and its con- gratulation on the success of a good business venture. It has doubled the joy of producing this volume. Technicalities of 1938 is presented as a canvas outlined with suggestions upon which memory will paint the details of high school days.
