President of the College speoks . Clfoith fime our orizono grocwlen - Years ago, as an undergraduate, I used to read a student literary magazine which had this motto emblazoned on its masthead: I hold it to my purpose to sail beyond the sunset. Although the caption evidently made a lasting impression on me, I confess now that I did not then understand its full significance.
