.14 nfunwfrafzon Through the dean of Women, Mary C. Baker, Women students find suitable housing facilities and plan their courses. She sponsors the Women's affairs on the campus, and is a ready listener to any problems confronting Women students. 4 Dr. Mitchell P. Briggs, dean of men, acts as advisor and counselor to men students. Through Dr. Briggs, men's social and scholastic .affairs are arranged. All problems concerning men students come before -the dean. lt is through this office that housing, financial aid, delinquency, and curricular aid is handled. oft.. Comptroller Carl Levin, in charge of the fi- nancial office of the Fresno State College, pre- pares the annual budgets covering all operat- ing expenditures of the college by the financial office. A graduate of Fresno State, class of '36, he was appointed comptroller this year. The office of the registrar, head- ed by Mrs. Wilma Wight, evalu- ates records of all incoming stu- dents for admittance. This in- cludes the records of high school students, transfer students from other institutions, and discharged military students. This office also checks on units to be fulfilled for graduation and degrees. Acting as employment secre- tary, Miss Lorraine Sheets places students for employment in both on and off campus Work. Posi- tions of secretary to department heads, fountain and cafeteria help, library and book store assist- ants, are offered by the employ- ment secretary. Secretarial and clerking jobs in downtown stores are also taken care of by Miss Sheets. Mrs. Virginia Lynam took over the employment .secretary's duties and is now the employment clerk who handles all student job place- ments for Work during- the school year.
