The EN's maintain Fresno's six diesel engines and auxiliary systems so that the ship has pro- pulsion and electricity. The BT's keep her boilers running effiently to provide the ship with that essential commodity, fresh water.

The jacks of all trades, A Gang is responsible for fixing and maintaining the ships laundry, evapor- tators, heating, and air conditioning. Additionally they manufacture nuts, bolts, label plates and other assorted machine parts used in shipboard work. A Gang is often referred to as, Fresh Air Snipes. x I -
