Q2 YYTNWYY 'XXQ FOREWORD The beautiful San Joaquin Valley that is our home was once semi-desert. It has been made one of the most productive garden spots of the world by the efforts of men and women who knew how to take advantage of natural resources and were willing to work hard to supply the world with things it needs. Many of these men and women went to Fresno High. They laid the foundations for the wealth of opportunity open to today's grad- uates. DEDICATION The student body of Fresno High is proud to salute a true and unforgettable friend by dedi- cating this, the 1953 Owl, to Mrs. Louise McCas- lin whose inspiring artistry and unselfish energy are reflected in all our school activities. Each year hundreds of posters and murals decorate our walls, tray favors and paintings cheer the veterans in our hospitals. Whatever beauty of line and color appears in the art work of our Owl, on our program covers, and in our stage settings is directly attributable to Mrs. McCaslin.
