The honor of President of the Student Council was given to Ron Risley. Other members of the council were Sandra Schlott and Violet Palcza. As a fittmg reward for their hard work our football team had an undefeated season and won the title of North Central Jersey Group l Champs Letter winners playing high school football for the last t1me were co capta1ns Bob Balliet and Ed Lawler Orville Shoemaker Gene Phillips Ray McPeek James Cooper Paul Sebring and M1ke Wukitsch At the annual football banquet Orville Shoemaker received the Miller Jenkins trophy an honor he really deserved Shoey was county h1gh scorer Promoted to varsity cheerleaders were Sandra Schlott Carolyn Stachmk Pat Hughes and Ruth Ann Kolbek Our first class project ofthe year was our senior dance Prisoners Ball held on October 8 Putting up these decorations was old stuff to us now but still lots of fun Playing their final season in hockey and receiving the1r letter were co captalns Ruth Ann Kolbek and Barbara Jepson Sandra Schlott Lois Phillips and Joan Anderson In November we started rehearsing for our Senior Play Gabriel Blow Your Horn a three act comedy w1th a hillbilly setting Basketball season was another milestone in our final year Members of the squad were co captains Harry Carr Bob Balllet and Orvllle Shoemaker They had a successful season Members of the girls teams were Pat Klnney and Barbara Jepson the co captains Helen Beer Lois Ph1ll1ps Carolyn Stachnik and Sharon Segur But our class was not all play and no work Elected to the National Honor Society were V1olet Palcza Wayne Hobson Gene Phillips and Barbara Cavanaugh Our representative to the Daughters of the American Revolution was Violet Palcza Our last dance was held in March Then we realized that II was the last tlme we would ever plan a class dance We were nearlng the end of our school days Durlng April we were busy with plans for our Washlngton trip on the 28th 29th and 30th When the time finally came to leave we were so excited we could hardly bear it We were gone for three perfect days days we ll always remember Then came finals class night Baccalaureate and finally commencement We received our diplomas and set out to conquer the world ff ff' Z ff, 47: Ee l was gill gf fl If ' rf V I f 'T K f i 1 L, ,f EXKZLX V A 'U 'v fl Q Z x I

From The Freshmen Partrj To The Froht Door FRESHMAN YEAR ln September 1951 the class of 55 entered F H S for the flrst tlme Before long we were to make our selves known! We were 3SS1g'n6d to Home Room 5 w1th Mrs Pulha Room 14 w1th M1ss Mxller and Room 15 w1th Mr Hawk We held our f1rst class meetlng and elected Wayne Hobson Presldent Gene Phxlllps V1ce Presxdent Jacky Dunn secretary and Ron Rlsley treasurer We also elected Mr Hawk as our class advlser for our Freshman year Our representatlves to the student counc l were Harr1et Shoudt John Tlger and W1ll1am B1ckel On October 27 1951 the class of 55 held the flrst of 1ts many socxal events the Freshman party We danced to the muslc of records and had refreshments ThlS party was a get together for the members of our class only and lf was enjoyed by everyone The drlve to ralse enough money to go to Washmgton D C ln our Semor year started ln our Freshman year We were asked to contrlbute S 50 dues for th1s our flrst year SOPHOMORE' YE AR The beglnnlng of our second year found us a l1ttle more confxdent and sure of ourselves No longer were we the lowly lxttle freshman We had attalned the rank of sophomores As our class offxcers we elected Wayne Hobson Presxdent Gene Ph1ll1ps Vxce Presldent Harr1et Shoudt Secretary Cynthxa Segume Treasurer Football season brought two letter wmners from the sophomore class Bob Balllet and Gene Ph1ll1ps Barbara Jepson recelved a letter m hockey After Chrlstmas our mterests turned to basketball Our team had a good season and wound up 1n a t1e w1th North Hunterdon Reglonal We had a playoff game but lost to them 1n a close game ln glrls basketball Jo Ellen Magruder rec'e1ved a letter for belng a manager Chosen to be Jun1or Varslty Cheerleaders were Harr1et Shoudt Carolyn Stachnlk Sandra Schlott and Pat Hughes On Aprll 24 the f1rst major project of the class of 55 was our Sophomore Dance lt was named Cherry Blossom Txme lt was the flrst tlme we had ever decorated for a dance and we were full of new 1deas There was only one letter wlnner ln baseball Gene Ph1ll1ps a pltcher JUNIOR YEAR Now we were upper classmen Our Home Rooms were Room 7 with Mr Hammond and Room 5 wlth Mr Snaxth QBetter known as Coach'j Th1s was a blg year We had a play to present a dance to sponsor and the Jun1or Prom to make ready for Our Jun1or Dance was presented flrst and was entltled the P1gsk1n Ball 1n honor of our school s football team The muslc was furnlshed by the Harmony Kmgs On March 25th and 26th the Jun1or Play entltled Tattletale was presented Th1s was a three act com edy wh1ch proved to be one of the most enterta1n1ng plays to be glven ID a number of years Our Jun1or Prom Sprmgtxme Carousel was a grand success w1th the Rhythmalres prov1d1ng the mus1c Betty Kukoda 54 was unanlmously elected our Prom Queen The class off1cers for our Jun1or year were Gene Ph1ll1ps Presldent Wayne Hobson Vxce Pres1dent Harr1et Shoudt Secretary and Cynthla Segume Treasurer Our class advxser was Mr Hawk The Student COUHCII representatxves for our th1rd year were Patrlcla Hughes Sandra Schlott and Harr1et Shoudt The class of 55 was well represented on the sports scene around F H S ln football Orv1lle Shoey Shoemaker Paul Sebrlng Raymond McPeek and Edward Bmgo Lawler recelved thelr letters Bob Balllet and Harry Carr recelved thexr letter m Baseball Sandra Schlott recelved her letter ln hockey ln gnrls basketball Barbara Jepson Pat Kxnney and Allce Trout fmanagerj recelved the1r letters for mls sport Samoa YEAR At long last we had reached the honor and glory of a semor We now went out of our way to use the front door Why notl That s one of the prlvlleges of bemg a semor Th1s was our year to shxne Holdlng the pos1t1on of class off1cers for th1s all xmportant year were P1-esldem Gene Phllhps V1ce Presldent Ray McPeek Secretary Harr1et Shoudt Treasurer Cynthxa Segume 0 . . 1 ... .
