Reflections With Mr. Bill ... Mr. Bill Strothman is one of the many dedicated coaches in Frenchtown. He has coached cross-country for 14 years since it started in 1974. When asked what it was that inspired him to coach all of these years he said, “It gives me a great opportunity to get to know the students better and also for them to get to know me.” The five person team did well this season. “They were all about the same this year, stated Mr. Strothman, “not one more outstanding than any of the others.” Because of the different courses, one could not determine a person more outstanding than another. BASKETBALL The 1987 Lady Broncs had another great season with a record of 17 wins and only 5 losses. Fortunately, the broncs are only losing three senior players, Laura Scharberg, Megan Howard, and Geni Cahala. They will be missed, but we still have a lot of varsity experience and have many promising newcomers. The broncs rallied in the district championship game by beating Darby. They also made it all the way to the divisional championship game, facing the Plains Trotters. Unfortunately, the Trotters outscored the Broncs in overtime, to beat them 63-59. The broncs still received a position in the state tournament. Girls Baskctball 21
