BRONC 66-67 FRENCHTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, FRENCHTOWN MONTANA To The Students Of F.H.S. We Leave The Memories Of Their 1966-67 School Year. OUR DEDICATED CUSTODIAN In recognition of his many years of faithful service to the youth of Frenchtown, we, the annual staff of 1966-1967 take pleasure in dedicating our Bronc Yearbook to Roy B. Erick- son. 2 Hello, boys and girls of the Frenchtown Schools, I am deeply moved to know that you, and the staff, have dedicated this Bronc Year- book in my honor. I am in my fourteenth year in your employment as custodian of the Frenchtown Grade School, and I have enjoyed every year of it. I have seen many students start in the first grade and graduate from the twelfth. Some have gone through college and have climbed to heights of fame, thanks to the staff of the Frenchtown Schools. I have seen four superintendents come and go, and am now on the fifth. I think he is doing a fine job as an administrator. Now for a bit of my past life: I was born and raised in Butte, Montana and educated in a little one-room brick school at Silverbow, Montana. Upon leaving school I started farming and dairying and did that for most of my life, except for the time I spent in employment of the Northern Pacific Railroad. When I came to Missoula, I was in charge of three different ranches in this area. After that I hired out as your custodian and have been here ever since. The experi- ence I have had, in seeing this school develop into an accredited school, is one lesson that I will never forget. 1 have prospered and enjoyed every year of it. I wish to thank the children and staff for honoring me in your Bronc Yearbook. Sincerely, Roy B. Erickson 3 The governing body of Frenchtown High School: Seated: Mr. Hightower, Jim Tolman, Susie Kreis, Allan ani? Allan La Casse. Standing: Ray Cline, Nancy McDonald, Jim Bondurant, Donna Harrington, Bruce Ochs, Deanna Hennes, and Dennis Kirchner. The 1967 candidates to Boy's State and Girls' state. Albert Sample, Deanna Hennes and Bruce Ochs. Deanna's alternate is Connie Myers. The 1966 candidates to Boy's State and Girl's State. Randy Hennes, Susie Kreis, and Dennis Kirchner. Susie's alternate was Nancy McDonald. 4 To the Class of 1967 In the 1966-67 Annual, are portrayed all the high spots and familiar side lights of your school years. This year is now a vivid picture, but as time rolls on, these pic- tures fade. This fine year book, will have a personal meaning to each Frenchtown student, today, tomorrow, and every day hence. It is my hope that you will look back on your school career as a good preparation for your life. The community has done its best for you. May the memories of the good times you had in school remain after you have forgotten the hard work and the restrictions. Congratulation students, staff members, and advisers, for making together in such a realistic form the history of another year. 5 With the closing of another school year, and the graduation of another senior class, I take this opportunity to wish all of you a successful road ahead. The seniors are entering a new phase of life-a most exciting and trying time, when they now reap what they have sown. Their paths will occasionally intermingle in the future and they will look back at the wonderful days spent in the home of the fighting Broncs. Their view will be from the nostalgic stand- point of alumni who have contributed to the name and glory of Frenchtown High School. I remind the underclassmen that a mighty challenge has been cast in front of you, a challenge to maintain and improve on past rec- ords. Next year we will meet again in these halls and classrooms with a new eagerness bom of rest and diversified activity. Come prepared to do your best, to challenge past accomplishments and to build an enviable record which will stand high. HIGHTOWER’S He really does work hard. Being quite stingy but not having any further use for some of our worldly possessions we hereby bequeath them to a few of the poor and unfortunate underclass- men in hopes that they can make more use of them than we did. To the future SENIORS, we leave nothing--we spent it all! To the future JUNIORS, we leave a pack of baseball cards and a band-aid, to do the best they can. To the future SOPHOMORES, we leave a case of Brownie buttons. To the Future FRESHMEN, we leave a crate of apple polish. JIM HAACKE leaves PAT MURPHY a pair of barber shears, his bear tracks to TOM RICHARDSON, and his hairy legs to DONNA HARRINGTON, (she needs them.) SUSIE KREIS wills her position as Hi-Lite editor to DEANNA HENNES, in hopes that she can withstand the pain and mental confusion, and her ability to run nylons to KIP MASON. HAYES OTOPALIK leaves his ability to fight Communism and Socialism with his two trusty side-arms, a black and silver Papermate and his voice, to the people of the United States. LINDA HELLMAN wills her blond hair to KEN WILLIAMS, and her perfect attendence to CURT SCHOENING. JOHN OCKERT wills his ability to pole vault to J. D. FRELINGER and his Sunday morning hangovers to BELINDA RICE. PATSY HOWER leaves her empty Clairol bottles to ALAN LACASSE. JIM BOUNDRANT wills his rep hip socks to LINDA WILLIG and hopes that she will make good use of them, his VW to anyone who can get more than 15 kids in it, and his football helmet to PAM LOOKER.
