Three long weeks of work by the Junior Class was climaxed at midnight. May 6, with the crowning of the King and Queen of the Prom, chosen from the Sailor Class by the Junior Class. Tom McDonald and Linda Bastlble were chosen to reign over the dance and were crowned by Don Normand, Junior President, and April Mlekush, Vice-President. The coronation was followed by a dance in honor of Linda and Tom, with guest soloist, James Cole, singing the theme song, Some Enchanted Evening. This was followed by the grand march, led by the Royalty. As the King and Queen marched down the aisle formed by their subjects, a shower a confetti gracefully floated down through the crepe caper. The Frenchtowr. Gymnasium was beautifully decorated with shades of purple crepe paper, graduated from royal purple to orchid. The focal point of the gymnasium was a fountain from which purple water flowed throughout the evening, sculptured by Mrs. Florence Mlekush. Excellent dance music was provided during the evening by Tony's Four. It was indeed an Enchanted Evening. IS
