The program was directed by Mr. Paul W. Ashby. It consisted of six different parts with each one wholly different from the others. This varied program was built with the idea of appealing to every- one in some way or other. Following is a list of the various casts Spot 1-Orchestra and Band. nl-in THE 1f1.U1oc:RAF'1' 1:--l--in Orchestra By Warden Tabor The High School Orchestra, which is under the direction of Paul W, Ashby, is made up of twenty-seven members. Under Mr. Ashby's direction the or- chestra has shown steady improvement and has played for several events dur- ing the school term. They furnished the music for the following events: Operetta, Convocation, Marquis the Magician, and helped in the music at the Washington Bicentennial celebration at Paoli. The orchestra and band together sponsored and gave the program Surprise Nite. lt is probable that the orchestra will 'play for the Baccalaureate and Commence- ment. Colglazier and Holbert Hendrix The Glee Club consists of fifty-four members and is one of the largest, if not the largest, in the history of the high school. All four classes are represented in the club and one credit is given for the year's work. E dith Lane and Paul Pershing The club, under the supervision of Miss Luckette, has made several public appearances. The operetta, Betty Lou QThe Dream Girly, Paoli High School Convocation, Spring Festival, Commence- ment and Baccalaureate were among the most important events. A party was given Saturday night, December 19, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thacker. The guests amused themselves at games and singing. And then came the surprise, for who should come to the 'party but Santa Claus him- self and with presents for all. The Glee Club wishes to thank Mr. an l Mrs. Thacker for their gracious hospital- ity in giving their home for the party. As soon as possible Miss Luckette sponsored the try- outs and selected a suitable cast.
