They served a farewell luncheon given by the men teachers for Mr. Bamber upon his departure for the U. S. Army. In an assembly program they demonstrated cookie making. Tenth grade members: Bob Betzer, Henry Duran, Gabriel Ruiz, Jr. CHESS AND CHECKER CLUB The Chess and Checker Club was introduced this year to provide students with a skill which may bc used for a pleasurable leisure time activity. Contests were held at times to make the club more interesting and to provide an impetus for learning to play these games better.
