Future Business Leaders of America The Future Business Leaders of America is an organization devoted to teaching boys and girls in high school how to become suc- cessful businessmen and women. The club is now one of the the largest in high school. Among the outstanding events of the years were the annual paper drive, the F. B. L.A. convention, and the initiation of the new members. Each year an award is given in book- keeping to the student with the highest ave- rage for the year was presented to Marilyn Foss. The following citizens were selected as honorary members of the club. They are ' Mrs. Olson, Mrs. Barkdull, Mr. Duke, Mr. Mertz, Mrs. Langley, and Mr. Clark.

Each 'year two students, a boy and a girl, are elected from each of the iunior high and high school classes to represent their class. These people that are elected make up the student council. They meet with Mr. Mertz to decide on various activities relating to their classes. Whenever a student wishes to make a sugges- tion, they may feel free to tell the student coun- cil members of their class. lt is then presented to the rest of the student council and Mr. Mertz for discussion and if found favorable, it isadopted They planned the school christmas exchange and also collected and countedthe ballots for the election of cheerleaders.
