Quill and Scroll The Quill and Scroll society re- quires its members to be a iournalism student that is either on the Tatler staff, the school newspaper, or the Vistula staff, which is the yearbook. These people must also maintain a B average in their high school subjects. Through this organization, improve ments in both the publications of the newspaper and the yearbook have been made possible. National Honor Society The importance of scholarship, cit- izenship, leadership, and character should not be overlooked. The students who live up to these rigid standards are eligible for the highest honor which they can receive in high school. This organization is the National Honor Society. The students must attain a B average and be at least a iunior. They must also fill the requirements of good conduct, fine character, and leadership ability shown by their partici- pation in extra-curricular activities. Each 'year two students, a boy and a girl, are elected from each of the iunior high and high school classes to represent their class. These people that are elected make up the student council. They meet with Mr. Mertz to decide on various activities relating to their classes. Whenever a student wishes to make a sugges- tion, they may feel free to tell the student coun- cil members of their class. lt is then presented to the rest of the student council and Mr. Mertz for discussion and if found favorable, it isadopted They planned the school christmas exchange and also collected and countedthe ballots for the election of cheerleaders.
