Senior Facts The class of 1952 b egan high school in 1948 with thirty-six members. The highlight of their year was initiation, November Sth. With the help of Mr. Max Mitchell, the class sponsor, they elected as class president, Richard Chapin; as vice-president, Bob Burch; secretary-treasurer, Arden Berry; Phyllis Beams and Jack Sprague, Student Council. As sophomores, they took great pleasure in helping the freshmen into high school. Tw o members were gained, Judy Myers and Jack Lantz, but they also lost three classmates, Lucille Birchfield, Helen Smith and Bill Wilcox. Class officers for 1949-5 were: Arden Berry, president; Bob Burch, vice presi- dent; Julee Mitchell, secretary-treasurer. Phyllis Beams and Les Peeler capably represented the class on the Student Council. Mrs. Marion Clark was faculty advisor. After becoming sophomores the class of ' 52 made itself known by taking an active part in all school activities. Most outstanding were Blaine Harding, Richard Chapin and Perry Stauffer who were chosen to play varsity basketball. Probably Fremont high school ' s jolliest junior class, they started the 195 0-51 term with thirty- two members including two new arrivals, Bob Tober and Bill Palmerton. During the course of the year, however, they lost Abbie Pansier, Donna Antrup and Anne Johnson. As officers they elected Blaine Harding, president; Jack Sprague, vice-president; Jim Gary, secretary-treasurer; Student Council mem- bers, Joyce Lomont and Bob Tober. Judy Myers and Joyce Lomont managed the canteens with Anna Champion and Mona Triplett as assistants. The outstanding events of the year were: the magazine sub- scription drive; the selection of class rings; their first formal dance; the junior-senior banquet; and the exceptionally successful presentation of the class play, which was directed by Mr. G. W. Moreland. The fall of 1951 found a slightly depleted senior class starting the final term. There were two new members, Nancy Lacey and Carol Huffer, but Bob Tober and Les Peeler were no longer with the class. During the year, the seniors lost Carol Huffer and Joann Chapin. Mr. J. L. Mertz was elected class sponsor with Phyllis Beams, president; vice-president. Bill Snyder; secretary-treasurer, Judy My- ers; Sharon Weigle and Roger FoUett, Student Council. In between money-raising events, the seniors managed to produce a class play; publish the Vistula ; and print the Tatler . Most of the year ' s activities, though, were centered around making money for the proposed class trip. Some of the seniors were rather glad to leave, others would, perhaps, have liked to say awhile longer. But all of them looked back with pleasure at the things done well, with regret at things done poorly, and with sincere relief at having finished one phase of life.

Junior Data The class of 19 55 began their high school career with the unusually large member- ship of forr) ' -two. They chose as class president, Graham Sellers; as vice-president, Joyce Booth; secretary-treasurer, Janis Baird; Student Council, Ann Hadley; and Mr. Richard Latier was elected class sponsor. After being officially welcomed into high school by way of the usual initiation, they settled down to an interesting if incon- spicuous, first year. When the class returned to school as sophomores, they had lost six of their number but had gained one new classmate, Beverly Leas. Class officers for 1950-51 were: President, Peggy Taylor; vice-president, Beverly Leas; secretan,-treasurer, Don Meeks; Student Council, Joyce Booth and John Gar). The sponsor was Miss Doris Davis. The class began taking an enthusiastic part in high school affairs. Two of their num- ber, Janis Baird and Beverly Leas represented them as varsity cheer-leaders. As juniors, they were in charge of the canteens with Peggy Taylor and Ann Hadley as managers; Joyce Booth, Janis Baird and Nancy Kinsey as assistants. Class executives were Don Meeks, president; vice-president, Nancy Kinsey; secretar --trea- surer, Joyce Booth; Janis Baird and Cecil Appleman, Student Council. Probably the most outstanding events of their 1951-52 term were the class play, directed by Mrs. Mariellen Pettr -, and the magazine sales campaign. The latter brought recognition from the Curtis Circulation Company for an unusually successful and profitable drive.
