Our chief sponsor was Miss Orr, and assisting her were Mr. Naber, Mr. Cooper, Mr. Hermance, and Mr. Meyers. Under their direction we chose the officers for the coming year. Those chosen were Bruce Lindsey, president, Roger Sutton, vice-president, Jerry Dum- mer, treasurer, and Joyce Miller, secretary. We were represented in Student Council by Larry Dean, Donna Curtice, John Somers, Lester Hooker, and Stan Bultman. We had two class parties that year. One was a skating party at Curvecrest with the tenth grade, and the other was a picnic at Fremont Lake Park. When we returned in the fall of 1954 we were no longer Freshmen, but experienced Sophomores. This year we chose as our president Lester Hooker, as our treasurer Larry Dean, as our vice-president Ron Workman, and as our secretary Jane Carbine. Our sponsors were Mr. Heerspink, Mr. Piggott, Mr. Provines, Mrs. Conklin, Mr. Warner, and Mr. Amundson. We were very proud when Larry Dean was elected treasurer of the Student Council. Our other repre- sentatives were Stan Bultman, Jerry Dykman, Roger Sutton, Arlene Rasey, and Don Leckrone. Our class produced a fine cook with Mary Mar- tinez winning first prize in the local Cherry Pie Contest. Although some of our class members were active in sports in their Freshman year, many more of the boys participated in varsity sports during their Sophomore year and began to accumulate the fine athletic records of the past few years. We had one class party this year, a skating party at Curvecrest with the Freshmen. We started our Junior year out on the right 'foot by electing as our class officers Jerry Dykman, pres- ident, Lester Hooker, vice-president, Max Garden- our, treasurer, and Jean Armour, secretary. Repre- senting us in Student Council were Judy Holmes, Stan Bultman, Ron Workman, and Jay Rottier. Two of our members were elected to Council offices. These were Larry Dean, vice-president, and Mike Reber, treasurer. Walt Weirich displayed his oratorical ability by winning first place in the speech contest, and Mary Martinez again won first place in the Cherry Pie Contest. Under the direction of Mr. Fosheim, our chief sponsor, we presented our Junior Play, Money Mad, a three-act comedy, in November. ln the Spring we were busy with the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. The theme which we picked was Under Southern Skies. We all enioyed the imaginary trip down the Mississippi with Mike Reber, Master of Ceremonies. Our section sponsors were Mrs. Hathhorn, Mr. DeJong, Mrs. Boerman, and Mrs. Fowler. The year ended with semester exams, and the signing of our Moguls on Play Day. The fall of 1956 was the year we had been looking forward to all through our high school careers. To lead us through this eventful year we elected Ron Workman, president, Walt Weirich, vice-presi- dent, Mike Reber, treasurer, and Anita Munson, secretary. Our Senior sponsors were Miss Van Horn, Miss Elmquest, Mrs. Boerman, Mr. Adair, and Mr. Durkee. Lester Hooker, John Somers, Duane Burt, and Don Leckrone represented us in Student Council. Judy Holmes, Stan Bultman, Don Leckrone, Jay Rottier, and Mike Reber made up the cabinet. Larry Dean was elected Student Council president. One of this year's first big events was the Home- coming with Judy Holmes presiding as Queen. Many of our members were engaged in sports activities. We will always remember our outstand- ing football, basketball, track, baseball, and tennis teams. None of us were surprised when Mary Martinez again won first place in the Cherry Pie Contest and after winning the county contest again placed in the top eight in the state. During the year we raised money for our skip-trip by a record-making Senior Sale, the magazine cam- paign, selling Christmas Cards, and our Senior Movie. Our success in these proiects was largely due to Miss Van Horn's pep talks and hard work. ln the Spring, under the direction of Miss Elm- quest, we produced the play, The Family Nobody Wanted. The month of May was filled with important events. First were the Junior-Senior Banquet and the Honor Banquet. The climax of our Senior year was the skip-trip to Mackinac Island, which we will never forget. Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises bring our high school careers to a close. Some of us will go on to college or special schools, while others of us will go to work in offices or in industry. As we set out on this new phase of our lives we take with us many pleasant memories. We will never forget Fremont High School and all our wonderful teachers and friends who have made these years so happy and enioyable. 23 W , , 1 lfiii 'ite-...y CHERYL LA VERNE ALFSEN Junior-Senior Banquet.
