endow 65444 Www Four years ago a group of enthusiastic and ex- cited freshmen entered the doors of F. H. S. Under the direction of our ninth grade sponsors, Miss Orr, Mrs. Adair, Miss Bradman, and Mr. Myers, we elect- ed our class officers. We chose Hugh Johnson as our president, Ken Schuiteman as vice-president, Janet Millis as secretary, and Carl Canniff as treas- urer. In choosing Bill Dok, Tom Dawe, Linda Weisner, and Don Trimble to represent us, we were sure that our Student Council would have a good start. So that everyone could get better acquainted we had a skating party at the Shelby Pavilion. We returned as sophomores ready to start the second year of our high school life. Mr. Provines, Mrs. Adair, Mr. Heerspink, and Mr. Myers were our advisors. For our class officers we elected as presi- dent, Carl Canniff, vice-president, Louie Hooker, secretary, Wanda Headlee, and treasurer, Marilyn Shriver. Our representatives in the Student Council were Marion Walsworth, Bill Dok, Don Hendrie, and Wyss Miller. Hugh Johnson held the office of treasurer of the Council. That year we decided to have a box social in the gym. lt was followed by games and refreshments. Marion Walsworth, the sophomore candidate, was chosen queen of the Carnival. The year ended with the sophomores serving at the Junior-Senior Banquet. We also participated in the first annual Play Day, which was held at Fremont Lake. We united the following fall and were enrolled under the title of iuniors. Our officers were Louie Hooker, president, Al Pugno, vice-president, Wyss Miller, secretary, and Marion Walsworth, treasurer. Representing us in the affairs of student government were Lois Jibson, Roger Schuiteman, Carl Canniff, and Don Hendrie, while two of our members were elected to council offices. These were Hugh John- son, vice-president, and Bill Dok, treasurer. We gave our Junior Play, Riddle Me Riches, a three-act comedy, in November. ln the spring the iuniors had the task of honoring the seniors at the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. l8 Our sponsors, Miss Van Horn, Miss Elmquest, Miss Sayles, Mr. Durkee, Mr. Adair, and Miss Gunther, aided us in our program titled, Senior Hit Parade. The year ended with the signing of our Moguls on Play Day, which was held in the gym because of rain. ln the fall of 1953 came the school year we had looked forward to. To lead us in this last eventful year the class elected Wyss Miller, president, Bill Dok, vice-president, Marion Walsworth, secretary, and Wayne Robertson, treasurer. Miss Van Horn, Miss Elmquest, Mr. Adair, Mr. Gebraad, and Miss Gunther served as our senior sponsors. Mary Ellen Collins, Lois Hendrickson, Marilyn Shriver, and Al Pugno were chosen to represent the seniors in the Student Council. Once more Hugh Johnson demonstrated his leadership abilities as president of the Council. Roger Schuiteman was vice-president. Serving on the cabinet were Lois Jibson, Don Hendrie, Bill Dok, Louie Hooker, and Wayne Robertson. We had many outstanding members in the field of sports. We will remember Louie Hooker, our foot- ball captain, for his power on the gridiron. Hugh Johnson was chosen one of the top players in the Ken-New-Wa League. The Homecoming was another highlight for the seniors with Beverly Tanis presiding as the queen. During the year we raised money for our skip- trip by a bigger than ever senior rummage sale, the magazine campaign, selling Christmas cards, a Christmas baked goods sale, and a senior movie. The Senior Play, Ramshackle lnn, a three-act mystery, was given on April 22 and 23. The Junior-Senior Banquet, the Honor Banquet, the skip-trip to Chicago, and graduation exercises filled the spring of i954 with many memories. As we say good-bye to dear old F.H.S. we realize that these have been the most memorable years of our lives. We will always remember the parties, classes, clubs, carnivals, and our teachers. We hope that the remaining students will enioy themselves as we did. '
