Medical fields interest Future Nurse members Future Nurses is an organization design- ed for anyone, boys or girls, that is in- terested in the medical field. It is not limited to people in nursing as many believe. FNA toured the new part of the hospital seeing things visitors normally do not see. They were able to observe a Crash Cart, a cart that is brought to a patient's bedside when breathing or the heart stops. Members helped the Bloodmobile and also worked at Arbor Manor two or three days a week. Experience in helping others and the chance to learn about new and in- teresting fields in medicine are the rewards. Front row: J. Hurt. C. Kumm, D. Heckman, C. Miller. M. Mcgee. Second rowx E. Future Teachers look at education Sophomore Nancy Line comforts small child while visiting the Opportunity Center on a FTA field trip. The trip to the center was one of the many activities which FTA members participated in. Future Teachers of America gives students a chance to take a realistic look at the field of education, it's challenges, opportunities and services to society. Also to analyze the many related fields that are open to people with an educator's background. Members worked as teacher's aides, observed teaching in elementary schools and listened to guest speakers throughout the year. Activities included a Christmas party, selling at basketball games, bowling, hay rack rides and roller skating. FTA helped promote American Education Week.
