Boasting a good varsity record, Fremd gymnasts were a well-respected team in the Mid-Suburban conference. Bol- stered by strong performances all-around, the growing in- terest in this sport has strengthened all levels of competi- tion. Doug Smidl received high state rank. A back flip is a mandatory part of free exercise.

Girls Take Third In 1977 Mid-Suburban Battle, oore Is State Ranked Competing in a strong Mid-Suburban league, the Vi- king Girl's Gymnastics team walked off with third place conference honors. This fine showing testifies to the growing skill and confidence of this team. In the true Viking spirit, these ladies, coached by Miss Trees, worked very hard to develop their all-around skills. Junior Tracy Moore captured a first place on the un- even parallel bars during the conference meet.
