STUDENT — FACULTY COMMITTEE Last August, under the direction of Mrs. Sara-Alyce Wright, a new school coordinating. organizing, and planning committee was formed. The committee, which met every Thursday and was run on a voluntary basis, was the driving force in the establishment of an Assembly Program, the formation of a Student Power workshop, and an attempt to obtain open study halls. One of the major achievements for the group was the “Student Unity Day.” an all day workshop of rap sessions, films, and entertainment, which was held in Freeport High School on February 5. The prevailing success of this group, where others like it have failed, was due to the determination. dedication and patience of its members and the faithful and knowledgeable guidance of Mrs. Wright. 29
