ADMINISTRATION AND GUIDANCE Ever since our first days in Freeport as seventh graders, we have depended on the Administration and Guidance Departments for advice and help. Under the leadership of Mr. J. Wesley Southard and Mr. Irving Franklin, the Department has striven to help each student to individually plan his course of study. Miss Mary Didas, Dean of Girls, and Mr. Henry Puff, Dean of Boys, have spent many extra hours helping students plan their schedules and fill out college applications. They have advised them on which colleges to apply to and on their chances of entrance. Mr. Richard Reed and Mr. Walter Lucas, new this year to the Freeport High School Guidance Department, have worked conscientiously on vocational guidance. They have aided many students in choosing their careers and have often been a help to them in securing jobs. Mr. Michael Liebman, another new member of the Guidance Department, has done a competent job as Sophomore Guidance Counselor. He held night conferences with students and their parents and discussed the results of the night tests. Through the efforts of this department, much student potential has been discovered and utilized.
