Getting to know you . . . f t FOREWORD Who was it that once said, 'To know is to love — for only after we learn about something can we actually love it! One can love and appreciate our democratic system of government and life only when he knows of the terrifying tyrannical rule in totalitarian states today. We of the Voyageur staff feel that through our yearbook we can, in retrospect, convey to the students all the activities in and features of Freeport High School. Since this yearbook will be the only tangible remembrance of Freeport High for the seniors, we have strived to relate in the Voyageur the complete story of the year 1960-61. We hope that upon rereading the 1961 Voyageur in future years, our senior class, the first to graduate from the new high school, will remember the exciting circumstances of getting to know our new school, and then realize how much it enjoyed and loved it. As a tribute to the senior class, therefore, the Voyageur staff has decided to use as the theme of the 1961 Voyageur — Getting to Know You.
