Mr. Arthur B. Myers Mr. Arthur B. Myers, chairman of the Industrial Arts Department, plans to retire this June. After attending Oswego for four years and then doing graduate study at New York University, Mr. Myers came to Freeport High in 1921 to introduce manual training. Mr. Myers' instruction in such courses as Blueprint Reading and Typography has prepared many Freeport High School students for careers in architecture and engineering. Mr. Myers will always be remembered for the time and interest he has devoted to his students. Unique among this quality is the fact that he often remained in his room noontimes to volunteer additional help to his mechanical drawing classes. We wish to Mr. Myers, whose personal qualities have made him revered by faculty members and students alike, as much success as he has had in past years and a very happy retirement. 18

A graduate of Syracuse, Miss Hack began her teaching career in Hamilton, New York. In 1921 she came to Freeport's Archer Street School to teach geography, history, and science. In 1924 she was transferred to the new Freeport High School where she has taught eighth grade General Science ever since. Former students remember vividly Miss Hack's good naturedness and her special interest in astronomy and meteorology. Outside of class Miss Hack has been an active participant in the Methodist Church, the Hi-Y Club of which she was faculty adviser, and the YWCA of which she was the local treasurer. One of Miss Hack's favorite expressions.is I can't wait to get to Sag, for every summer she spends a few weeks camping at her cottage on the beach at Sagapontik, Long Island. The faculty and students of F.H.S. have appreciated Miss Hack's interest in the student body and wish her much success and happiness in her retirement. Miss Hazel Hack
