Another year has passed into history and once again we are called upon to address a graduating class of Freeport High School. This year’s theme, Wheels, was chosen, no doubt, after a great deal of deliberation and indicates a far-sighted and deep thinking group of young people. The Wheel symbolizes motion—and nothing in the memory of man has made a greater contribution toward world progress. We view the high school as the hub or the basis of secondary education from which each of you will select a spoke or avenue of endeavor. Your chosen field will then terminate at the rim where you, as the citizens of tomorrow, again will join together to form one united effort toward the strengthening of democracy and the furthering of world peace. It is up to each one of you to make the Wheel roll smoothly by creating good will among your fellow men by your tolerance and fair play. That your future be abounding in success and happiness is the most earnest wish of the Board of Education. Leo F.
