Miss RUTH COCHRAN Une of Freeport's outstanding women and one whom every student honors is Miss Ruth Coch- ran. She is an embodiment of all the character- istics which one who teaches and leads should have. Miss Cochran is Vice-Principal and Dean of Girls, as well as the trigonometry teacher and adviser of the Junior Honor Society. Mr. C. Overton Tremper, the Seniors' helper. is the director of Senior High guidance. He is responsible in part for the future of all F. H. S. students. Last year he was instrumental in getting some 330,000 worth of scholarships for the graduating class. ln addition to his admin- istrative duties, Mr. Trelnper is the F. H. S. haseball coach. Adminiszfration and Guidance MR. C. OVERTON TREMPER MR. JOHN RANDOLPH The Junior High guidance program has a three-fold aim: to help students adjust to high scllool work, to assist students to make plans for their future education, and to provide need- ed vocational information. This work is car- ried on through interviews, assemblies, and tests under the able Mr. John Randolph, J. H. S. director. Mr. Wesley Southard, Vice-Principal and Di- rector of Athletics, works especially with the seventh graders. He is trying not only to adjust his students to high school responsibilities but also to instill courtesy towards their fellow stu- dents and elders, truly worthy aims.
