Senior Class ftlistorg VHWHE CLASS of 1932 started upon its four year journey in Septem- ' ber, 1928. Now, after oui' course has been successfully completed, we are about to leave the familiar halls of F. H. S. and embark upon the sea of life. We do not set forth, however, without leaving an enviable record behind us in the annals of our alma mater. As timid Freshmen, we held our first social affair, which was, as everyone knows, the Freshmen Tea Dance. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended, and even succeeded in evoking praise from those superior beings, the Seniors. Aside from this social success, we boasted capable representatives in athletics, dramatics, and speaking contests. Sophomores, learned and wise! At least we thought we possessed these qualities, despite the doubts of our sister classmates. Aided by a year of experience and an improved appreciation of ourselves, we con- tinued our fine work under the leadership of our President, Ferris Mack, and made an enviable record for ourselves. As sedate Juniors, we branched out into many different activities. We gave our ingenuity full play in our sports and spring dances, and even in our simple cake sale. However, we will always be remembered for establishing the precedent for College Night. With the co-operation of Mr. Jones, of the Guidance Department, we Juniors sponsored a very helpful program for those Seniors and Juniors of our own and neighbor- ing schools who contemplated attending college. In June, graduation took its annual toll, advancing us learned Jun- iors to the position of dignified Seniors entitled to sit in that holy ot holies 'where angels fear to tread' , Room 200. Naturally our intention was to surpass all our predecessors in scholastic, athletic, and social activities. On the stage we were well represented by those two favorites, Eileen O Brien and Francis Johnson. Margaret Edwards distinguished herself in the field of music, while Sally Philbrick, Cecelia Krudop, and Edwin Freedman held the eminent journalistic posts. On the gridiron we had Tom Mack, Howard Kohout, and Floyd Jones: on the court, Goose5' O'Regan, and John Quick. Winton Mac Carter led the trackmen, while Frances Jansen and Elinor Myers were best fr Miss Powells team. Anne Kiernan and Nina Young were outstanding in basketball and hockey, each leading her teammates to victory consistently. These are only a few of our celebreties, for recognition cannot be given to all those who so faithfully served their class and school. In leaving such a record behind us, we realize that we are greatly indebted to our faculty advisers, Miss Mattson, Mr. Frey and Miss Mac- Arthur. We thank them for the unselfish aid they have given us in at- taining our goal, Success. l'27l
