Band This year Freeport High School is proud to say that its band has approximately seventy-two members. They are divided into sections-brass, reed, string, and percussion. This band probably owns the largest col- lection of music of any school its size in the state. Mem- bers ofthe band have demonstrated their skill by playing in last year's Music Festival at Boston. and also by play- ing at various school times. Although the band won no honors at the Music Festival last year. they did a good job. They showed sportsmanship and confidence in themselves. Vwfe think this year is going to be a winning year. XVe feel confident of placing first in the small schools. The townspeople have surely helped out a great deal by assisting us with the organization. and we in the band appreciate it. The band, started by Mr. Perry. at first had about thirty members. He has given his time. knowledge. and interest in making the band what it is today. I want to say on behalf of the members of the band that we certainly appreciate what he has done for us. Allan Powers 54 1 CA 7 If ' X12 v I 1 Q Qyx l it- FN ' 2 Acrivmizs
