Juniors Garnet Gering and Margo Graber hurriedly dec- orate the floral archway. The juniors were not allotted the usual week to prepare their banquet because the gym was occupied by the senior play for two days. Master of Ceremonies Randy Barta gives his welcoming address as soloist joanMarie Wipf looks on. May Day I5 Banquet Theme ' The annual junior-senior banquet and prom was held Saturday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym. The theme chosen this ye ar by the juniors was May Day. The gym was decorated in pastel colors with a maypole in the center, and a bubbling water fountain and wishing well adorned either side of the room. The banquet, catered by the El Trio Catering Service of Sioux City, Iowa, consisted of turkey, dressing, baked potatoes, greenbeans, salad and ice cream. Dinner music was provided by Cindy Preheim on the organ playing many popular songs. Following the meal Randy Barta was Master of Cere- monies for a short program featuring Don Diede as guest speaker. Mr. Diede received a standing ovation from the audience. Burnell Glanzer, senior class president, also gave a short speech in which he thanked the juniors for the beautiful evening prepared by them for the seniors. The twelve freshmen waiters and waitresses favored the guests with a short, original skit. joanMarie Wipf sang two selections including the theme from Love Story . This Three-act mystery comedy was directed by Mrs. Diane Ellinger, who was assisted by joan Marie Wipf. Mystery, Mayhem, and Murder, written by Jed Parrish, deals with the problems Mr., and Mrs. Brighton and Wendy have when they arrive at their summer home. After many ex- citing episodes, the mystery is solved by Steve Caldwell, Wendy's boyfriend. Greg Kleinsasser, representing the class, presented Mrs. Ellinger with an arrangement of cut roses at the intermission. 69 LEFT: Juliet commands Boniface out from his hiding

Tensions Create xciting Atmosphere for junior-Senior Prom I x Barb Uecker and jan Mehlhaf, pictured ABOVE, are seen paying a visit to the combination punch bowl and wishing well. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Bennett, BELOW RIGHT, were almost continuous dance floor fixtures from 9:30 to 11:45. N 7 l TOP: The Tensions played for the prom following the banquet.
