' The Freeman Chapter of the Future Homemakers of America and their advisor is pictured at RIGHT: FRONT: Song Leaders Shana Gullickson and Denise F. H.A. Hosts Style Show The Future Homemakers had an activity planned for each month. Several speakers were present at the monthly meetings. Among them were a minister, home decorator, and a Registered Nurse. For the December meeting the girls went caroling at the hospital, Salem Home for the Aged, and at the homes of several elderly people. The March activity brought the Odyssey to town for the Sweethearts Ball jointly sponsored by the F Club. The girls had a candy sale, a lunch stand at a farm sale, an Easter party, a Daddy Date night, and a style show in May, at which time the junior Degrees were given and the new officers were inducted for the coming year. S. senior, placed third at the Region F. H. A. Beef Cookoff Contest in Lennox on April 15, 1971 . julie, after competing in the local Beef Cook Off Contest, was chosen to represent Freeman in the subregional contests where she received first place. Then went on to the regional to win third place and five dollars. The major contest requirement was a two- pound chuck roast prepared any way desired, within two hours. The final dish was judged on appearance, cut of meat, garnish, originality of recipe and

The basic outline of the work began when the editors attended a Week long institute at South Dakota State University in Brookings for yearbook editors. They learned correct methods for making layouts and Writing and editing copy. Photography for the FLYETTE was handled by Al's Studio, Alvin Mudder, Don Gering and a few amateur photog- raphers Within the school. Flyette Reflects Daily Routine at F.H.S. istic view of Freeman High School by showing the studenis and teachers in the daily activities. This Three-act mystery comedy was directed by Mrs. Diane Ellinger, who was assisted by joan Marie Wipf. Mystery, Mayhem, and Murder, written by Jed Parrish, deals with the problems Mr., and Mrs. Brighton and Wendy have when they arrive at their summer home. After many ex- citing episodes, the mystery is solved by Steve Caldwell, Wendy's boyfriend. Greg Kleinsasser, representing the class, presented Mrs. Ellinger with an arrangement of cut roses at the intermission. 69 LEFT: Juliet commands Boniface out from his hiding
