Student addresses at commencement were given by, LEFT: Kim Wilde, Ted Hofer, john Hansen, George Villa, and Monte Kaufman. Students Speak at Commencement Graduation activities began May 19 with class night. The program included senior band, awards to outstanding indivi- duals in school activities, and presentation of the senior class's facts, poem, and will. Baccalaureate was held May 24 with Rev. Virgil Gerig delivering the sermon. The boys' chorus, girls' chorus, and mad- rigal sang. Terry Walter played the pro- cessional and recessional march. With a crowd of nearly one- thousand, 34 seniors and 57 eighth graders graduated May 25. jackie Stahl played the proces- sional march and the girls' ensemble and madrigal provided music. The class motto is: Take the world as you find it, but leave it better , The class flower is white mums and the colors are maroon, pink, and white. Graduating with high distinction was Tammi Graber and with highest distinction was Kim Wilde, who also received the Patricia I-Iofer Scholarship.

Juniors june Kleinsasser and Julie Svartoien, ABOVE, help to get the gym ready for the ban- quet and prom by making a canopy out of streamers. juniors Present ll 'Cell Romance in Ven' The junior-senior banquet and prom was held Saturday, May 3, with the theme, Romance in Venice . The gym was decorated in colors of silver and blue with gondolas, and Roman murals accent- ing the scene. The students and faculty sat at card tables and were served a catered ham supper by twelve freshman waiters and waitresses chosen by the junior class. They were, ABOVE: Nancy Schamber, Deb Graber, Cindy Schmidt, JoAnn Schamber, Debby Gunderson, Marlene I-Iaar. FRONT: Gregg Graber, Mike Walters, Dan Herr- boldt, joe Villa, Ted Pidde, Charles Aman. Master of ceremonies Tom Villa introduced junior and senior class presidents Bob Wollman and Dale Aman who gave welcoming and farewell speeches, respectively. The madrigal sang a num- ber, and Principal Ron Bennett delivered the fea- ABOVE: Tom Villa, Mrs. Betty Mudder, and Mr. Alvin Mudder listen while Bob Wollnin gives his speech. tLu'ed speech recognizing each senior through a motto and jokes. Prom music was furnished by the Sirens . BELOW: juniors, seniors, and faculty members are seen en- joying the banquet.
