The Thespians presented their play Monday, May 11 with the following cast, BACK: Dale Aman --Cleante, Rod Anderson--Fleu- rant, Mark Mehlhaf--Thomas Diafoirus, Monte Kaufman--Dr. Diafoirus, Kim Wilde--Purgon, Tom Haar--De Bonnefoi, John Hansen--Beralde. FRONT: Kathy Krehbiel--Angelique, Rosemary Hoff--Louison, Ardelle Kleinsas- ser--Beline, George Villa--Argan, Karon Uecl-:er--Toinette. Seniors Present Play With Double Cast The Freeman High School seniors presented the play, The Imaginary Invalid Monday and Tuesday, May 11 and 12. The play, written by the French playwright Moliere, makes mem- bers of the medical profession objects of his comic satire. Ar- gan, the imaginary invalid, believes entirely in his doctors Purgon, Diafoirus, Thomas Diafoirus, and the apothecary, Fleurant, as theypretend to be curing him of his imaginary ill- nesses. However, through the help of Argan's servant Toinette and his brother Beralde, Argan is ridded of his imaginary ill- nesses, his doctors, and his conniving wife. The class was able to use 17th century costumes, which added much authenticity and humor to the play. sick . 72 I Mrs. Ethel Kaufman, ABOVE, coached both casts and supervised the costuming, properties, and publicity. Officers chosen by honor society members are, ABOVE: Allen Weier--vice-president, Monte Kaufman--treasurer, Kim Wilde--presi- dent, Kathy Krehbiel--secretary. The honor society's major goal was to raise money for the Patricia Hofer Memorial Fund. The money raised from the fund goes to a senior selected by a faculty committee on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service, talent, contri- bution to the school, character, and need. Money was raised through a record dance held after the conference Wrestling tournament, and a coffee hour given after both nights of the senior class play. Eleven new members were added to the honor society during the year. They were formally in- ducted into the society in a candlelighting cere- mony performed by last year's members. Also the organization held several breakfast meetings in the spring and elected officers for the 1970- 71 school year. Last year's members include, RIGHT: Kim Wilde, Allen Weier, Monte Kaufman, john Han- sen. FRONT: Judy Aman, Kathy Krehbiel, Tammi Graber. New members selected are, LOWER RIGHT: Holly Wrenn, Don Penner, David Christenson, JoAnn Wagner, Ardelle Kleinsasser, Diane Weier.
