Members of the girls' senior high track team are, BACK: Reyne Anderson, JoAnn Schamber, Lynette Weins, Teresa Brucklacher, Coach LaVerne Diede, Sally Jorgensen, Anita Bittner, Pam Gering, Marlene Haar. SECOND: Marcy Kaufman, Glenda Weins, Iulie Svartoien, Nancy Schamber, Girls Place Second at The 1970 track season found 68 girls from grades 6-12 reporting to Coach LaVerne Diede. The team participated in the Hurley Bulldog Relays, the Tyndall Relays, the Yankton Regional Track Meet, the Springfield Invitational Track Meet, and the Girls' Conference Track Meet at Salem where they took second place. RIGHT: Teresa Villa qualified for the State Track Meet by Winning the 220 yard dash at the regional meet. ABOVE are the seven Flyers who ran in record-breaking relays for FHS. They are BACK: Allen Weier, Tom Vill, Mark Mehlhaf, Monte Kaufman. FRONT: jerry Hofer, Jarvis I-Ieckenlaible, Lynn Mendel. . ABOVE the spectators eagerly cheer Allen Weier on to a split- ' second victory over Canistota as he crosses the finish line in the mile relay. Hard work and will power make for a suc- cessful track team as proven this year by the Flyers. ABOVE the boys are shown putting forth this kind of effort during after school work-outs. 69 BELOW is the two mile relay team which broke the school record by seventeen seconds. They are john Hansen, Allen Weier, Kim Wilde, and Burnell Glanzer.
