Consolidation of the Freeman district has brought an increase of 25M in school enrollment. To accomo date these needs two 24' by 60' mobile units were added to the school as classroom space. Also four new buses were purchased. Enrollment for the year is 610 compared to 434 in the previous year. The high school enrollment is 150, grade school 362, and the Special Education class has fourteen members. Seven rural schools, Foreword Tv .Q ' iii so fr- or - ' , 'fn J-M' 44- to Mr , ' .Q rt 'M 'fx .aa if ,,i' which are operating under this school district, have an enrollment of 85 students. A program of joint classes between Freeman Academy and Freeman High School has been deve- loped this year. Academy students attend eight dif- ferent classes at the high school, while high school students go to two classes offered at the academy. ALVIN J. MUDDER has been on the FHS faculty for eight years, and has served as superintendent for five years He received his B.A. from Yankton College and his M Ed degree from S D S U coach, assistant football coach and senlor t1nuedatSDSUforh1sMEd The school board meets each month to discuss issues Con- cerning the school. Last fall the board proposed a bond is- sue for a new school, which was defeated. They are now working on a new plan for the building.
