The government class spent Feb- ruary 3rd observing the state legis- lature in action. They attend commit- tee meetings and house sessions. LEFT: Ted Hofer questions Mr, Charles Cady during the government classes' mock court trial. Mr. Alvin Mudder and Mr. Ron Bennett were the defendants to an arson charge of attempting to burn down the school. The trial, with students playing dif- ferent court room roles, came to a climax when the jury found the def- endants guilty and judge Monte Kaufman pronounced the sentence. Seniors Observe State Legislature GERALDINE THOMAS KARON UECKER IVAN VEN OSDEL GEORGE VILLA JOANN WAGNER LEFT: Tammi Graber received honors as Betty Crocker Homemaker and DAR representative of Freeman High School for 1970. She was named Betty Crocker Homemaker after receiving the highest score on a written test taken by all senior girls. As Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen, Tammi was chosen by the faculty on the basis of her dependability, leadership, patriot- ism, and service. 14

Others include trigonometry, physics, psychology, sociol- ogy, bookkeeping, Home Ec. Ill, German II, and World History. During the year the seniors took various tests to prepare for college. Among these were the ACT and GATB. They also at- tended Career Day at Spencer where rep- resentatives spoke to them concerning col- lege choices. Approximately 80M of the class plans to go on to some kind of school- ing next year. ABOVE: Mr. Ortman, john Hansen, and Kim Wilde are working on an experi- ment in physics class. Delano Koerner, Michael Schweitzer, LeRoy Pullman, and Dale Aman are doing practice sets in bookkeeping.
