CLASS HISTORY Time August 31 1945 Place Freelandville School Forty two six year olds marched into the first grade We found our teacher to be Miss Ruth who guided is through our first year During the year and summer we lost the followmg Mildred Lucas Jerry Page Janet Ruth Stark John Joe Pepmeier and Billy Helderman Nww we entered the second grade fully confident that we knew all there was to know about school Mrs Green taught us this year We gamed Karen Robbins and lost Kenny Burr Burt n Hollmgsworth Dean Jones Rodney Kirchoff Roger Stephenson and Roger Reedy It was now 1947 We entered the third grade under the direction of Mrs Snyder Patty Wright juined us Jwhn Brown Janice Hottle Herbert Parham Nancy Porter and Jlm W1lson moved away Rodney Kirchoff returned from overseas and spent a few months with us We were naw nine years old and had recess with the older kids We had a hard time learning that our teacher Miss Bohmeier was now Mrs Huffer Mike Warner joined us for few months Patty Wright and Jerry Helderman left us We were really excited about our fifth year This year Mrs Volle was our teacher and we had our first class party We galned Dean Morgan Jlm Wilson and Herbert Parham Marjorie Dotson joined us for awhile but because of a new transfer ruling Marjorie and Jane MCC ur-mick left during the year Herbert Parham also left thls year We finally made it upstairs Our sixth grade teacher was Mr Johnson This year we had f n buxlding a medieval castle and dramatuzing a part of Knights of the Round Table' Dav1d Bement J1m Wilson and Gerald Polk left us thls year We welcomed Marilyn Robbins and Walter Dahnke In 1951 we entered the big assembly It was strange and frightening to us at first but after a few weeks we found we llked it Jim Brown Walter Dahnke and Mary Ann Strate moved away Harley Swick joined our class for a year This year under the direction of Mrs Wagner the Jr High presented an operetta called The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin We gamed a Dean lJones1 and lost a Dean QMorganl high school party and elected class officers Our President was Judy Dlckman Vice President Sue Johnson Secretary Barbara Rlsley Treasurer Sue Klutey Student Council Larry Dunkerly and Connle Trent Our sponsor was Miss Bloebaum John Hayden and Loretta Like Joined us and Marilyn Robbins and Barbara Mabis withdrew 1953' Our senior year looked far away We went on an all day outlng to Spring Mill with our sponsors Miss Bloebaum and Mr Kramer Our class offlcers were President Jan Brocksmith Vice President John Hayden Secretary Sue Johnson Treasurer Connie Trent Student Councll Judy Dickman and Warren Singleton Mike Warner Joined us this year Lawrence Worley also Joined us but left durmg the summer Our Junior year was a very busy one We chose Miss Rich and Mr Holscher as sponsors and elected Larry Dunkerly President Barbara Risley Vice President Connie Trent Secretary Jan Brocksrmth Treasurer Mike Warner and Judy D1ckman Student Counc1l We gained Billie Vance and Roma Postlewaite Joined us for half a year Jerry and Clarence Kirk moved away The class play was Faith Hope and Flarity For the reception we trans formed the gym into a street cafe scene of Gay Paree Seniors' At last' Miss Rich and Mr Koenig are our sponsors this year Our off1cers are President Larry Dunkerly Vice President Warren Singleton Secretary Barbara Risley Treasurer Connie Trent Karen Robblns withdrew leaving us with 22 ln our graduating class 17 of these Z2 have gone all 12 years together We have been busy makmg the annual and raxsmg money for our trip to Washmgton D C Soon we shall all be gone our separate ways but we shall never forget our school days F H S , ' ' : ' . . . , 1 . . l I . 1 T .
