тт The 1982-1983 School year offered new opportunities and new sources of pride for the students, staff and community of Freeland. Mrs. Case was transformed from librarian to linguist as she became Freeland's French Master. Mr. Frenzel put two and two together to form quartets in Vocal Music. Mr. Storm was given the opportunity to preach what he practices in Economics class. Frau Miller reintroduced World History and x xc Mrs. Darwin made initial contacts for a Co-op program. Фа New and reinstituted offerings were only рап of the pic- | ture. Mr. Schultz returned to the Language Arts Dept. after a years absence, Biology became a graduation requirement starting with the class of 1986. Saturday School took the place of Saturday cartoons for some students. Mrs. Hacker returned to the Guidance Dept. and Mr. Hacker to U.S. History. Extracurriculars continued to flourish during 1982-1983. Mr. Hacker continued to provide direction for the football pro- gram, Mr. Franz — basketball and Mr. Schultz — baseball. Mr. Terwilliger CHIPPED in where he could, Mr. Hollingsworth “RAN” up some good results and Mr. Craig provided inspira- tion for Girl's athletics and direction for the entire athletic program. In non-athletics the offerings were also strong. Mr. and Mrs. Perry teamed up to cover yearbook. Mrs. Smith adopted the senior class. Mr. Perry started an art club. Mrs. Miler swore to her efforts with mock trials. Mr. Parsch, Mrs. Urbancik, Mrs. McCartney sponsored the underclassmen. The entire staff renewed their efforts to provide meaningful experiences for students and Mr. Shephard and the Band marched onward. Тһе 1982-1983 School year promised to be a great one from the onset. Everyone who worked to make it great is appreciated. 1 continue to be pleased with our students, staff and community and ‘т proud to be from Freeland. Dana B.
