Many awake at 5:00 A.M. to pre- pare for school, and the school is alive by 6:55 with students. We have entered half-day ses- sions due to overcrowding. This has also been a year of firsts in other ways for stu- dents. We stood outside for twenty minutes while faculty and police searched for a non- existent bomb. We are feeling the pinch of rising gasoline prices, the threats of gas rationing and the resignation of Vice President Spiro Agnew. Many of the traditions have been carried through to our shorter day. The Cheerleaders cheer, the band marches, the teams strive for that winning point and in the spring the Seniors don caps and gowns and cross the stage to receive their diplomas. In the next one hundred or so pages the staff of the yearbook has attempted to capture the memories this year. This too is TRADITION! Much experi- ence was gained by ''The Group'' and we're really proud of our hard working men! Coach Curl was quoted as saying this year's team had one main weakness: it was a young team. We had few returning seniors, and so this ''new'' team knew it had a long way to go before it even had a chance to get started. In fact we had 8 juniors starting on defense and 9 on offense. Indeed, our weakness this year will be our strong point next year; Freeland High is really looking forward to a great team in the seasons to come!
