CHEERLEADERS Left to right, Mrs. Johnson, Delta Fowler, Lorene Clark, Elinor Corey, Lucille Shaw, Grace Black, Mary Turner. CHEERLEADERS OF '52 AND '53 As usual, the season of basket- ball rolls around in the fall. That is the time for the selecting of players for the teams. It is also the time for the selecting of another group- the cheerleaders. This past fall We had the annual tryouts for cheerleaders, with fifteen girls trying out. From this group six were chosen as follows: Delta Fowler, Mary Turner, Lorene Clark, Elinor Corey, Lucille Shaw, and Grace Black, fco-captainsj, with Mrs. Johnson as our coach. Through the help of the student council, we have been able to se- cure new uniforms. These were a one piece uniform of maroon and white satin. These were made with the help of Mrs. Johnson and our mothers. Many thanks are ex- tended to them all. Many new cheers were made up this year, so that we had quite a
