The President and Board of Trustees E. Claude Gardner has served Freed-Har deman for almost 38 years. He is beginning his eighteenth year here as president. In ad- dition to serving as president of F-HC, Gard- ner has been involved in many civic activities in Henderson and Chester County. He is a member of the Chester County Rotary Club and of the Chester County Bank Board. He also helped to start the Chester County Se- nior Citizens Organization and the Chester County Chamber of Commerce. After Congress declared this year as the Year of Thanksgiving, President Gardner de- cided this year's special word would be Thanksgiving We have so much to be thankful for. There is no way we could ever stop counting our blessings, is the way he explained his choice. ln addition to raising funds for the college and leading its administration, President Gardner takes a special, individual interest in the student body. He is in attendance at many student activities. He knows an amaz- ing number of students by name and his door is always open for those who want to talk with him.
