The principal speaker of the evening was Mr. Eugene Eckert,nat1onally known figure in range and agriculture work. Music was furnished by Donald Kessler and short talks were made by Norman Rieso, Roland Heidenreich, Clarence Schleueter, and Mr. Daigh, F.F.A. sponsor. Those from our school who won honors were as follows: Vera Fisher, Bob Hill, Donald Ketten, Bob Mlddendorf, Alice Kemper and Lids Smith. D Outstanding Events Coontinuedl The Freeburg Rotary Club sponsored a banquet in honor of the high school baseball and basketball teams on Tuesday, April 16. Principal C. W. Bowman served as toastmaster and the speaker of the evening was 'AbeN.Mart1n, athletic director at Southern Illinois. Miss Wilma-hut and high school groups furnished music for the occasion. Varsity let- ters in basketball and-baseball were presented to Barney Heiligenstein, William Bauer, Robert Middendorf, Roger Zipfel, Kent Pflasterer, Merlin Hubbard, Harold Daab, and Eddie Bryan, Donald Ketten, and Stanley Agne received letters in basketball and James Calkin in baseball. .Minor e- wards were meds to Delbert Schoen,Bob Nicol,BurlABuchanan,Bob Becherer, Harold Becker, Bernard Koesterer, Joseph Kasper, and Gene Gauch. The public greatly enjoyed the performance of the following cast: Vera F1sher,Don Ketten, Harry We1ss,Al1ce Kamper, Rose Lanter, Bob Middendorf, Bob Hill, Robert Nicol, Marguerite Etling, Kent Pflasterer, Jean Ann Phillips.
