Indeed, we had all looked forward to this day with an attitude of expectancy mingled with uncertainty. For the first few weeks, we timld and frightened individ- uals walked about .hardly daring to breathe freely. when we finally overcame our inferior feelings and mustered up sufficient courage and initiative, this new school life proved to be quite interesting and ex- citing. Our class was well represented in athletics, the chorus, band, and the various school clubs. Glass officers elected were: Robert Middendorf, Don Ketten, and Vera Fisher. Then, after, having completed nine months of diligent hard work and study, we were all happy to en- joy a three months vacation. Thirty-two out of our original enrollment of forty-five returned the following school term to be promoted to the rank of Sophomore. Much to our satisfaction we were no longer the most inexperienced members of the student body. At our first meeting we elected Jim Bollman, Vera Fisher, and Don Ketten as class officers. A great deal of our class' dramatic and vocal ability was' dlgplayed in the school operetta, NGay Havanan. Again we were very ener ltd? PHP- ticipants in all school activities. In athletics several of our mem- bers recelved varsity letters in baseball and basketball. with allthings considered, we looked upon this year of school as being even more suc- cessful and enjoyable than our Freshmen year had been. The following Fall found most of us back again, this time to take our places as NJolly Juniorsn. We all anticipated this year to be bub- bling over with work and pleasure if we were to live up to the tradi- tional actlvlties entered into by former junior classes of our school. To start things off we chose William Bauer, Evelyn Lucash, Vera Fisher, and Rose Marie Lanter as class officers. With the introduction of the Student Council, Evelyn Lucash, Vera Fisher, Bernard Heillgenstein, and William Bauer, became our representatives. In early December we pre- sented the play, nM1ss Jimmyu. Our class rings were also selected this year. Then in the Spring we prepared a Hawaiian banquet in honor of the seniors. In the field of athletics, several of our members again earned varsity letters in basketball and baseball. Time passed quickly and we found ourselves at the end of another school term, with everyone overaanxious to enjoy a period of rest. , This year being our fourth and final year at good old ,F.C.H.S. we seniors were determined to make it one never to be forgotten.Fb unatel3 we have indeed succeeded in making it such. As our class play we chose a mystery entitled, NThe Marlenberg Neclacen. Also with the able assla tance of our senior talent we succeededxln copping theCahok1a Caderence Title. Student Council members included Bernard Helligenstein, Stanley Agne, Jean Ann Phillips, and Janet Wild. Class officers were William Bauer, Stanley Agne, Rose Marie Lanter, and Vera Fisher. To be sure,ve all'thoroughly enjoyed the many steps leading to graduation. Some of them included class day, editing the NSpotlightH, and having our plc- tures taken. It ls now with thoughts of graduation domlnent' in our minds that we look back upon these last four years as the happiest ones we have ever experienced. To us they represent years of treasured mem- ories. Indeed, we shall all accredit our school with having taught us a major lesson'1n how to make our lives happy and successful. I ',,s,, .
