Most students find sleeping late .or relaxing at the pool among their favorite summertime activities. Others play baseball or volleyball with friends. The Stonewoll Peach Jamboree, Night in Old Fredericksburg, and The Gillespie County Fair are some of the favorite gathering places of students. By late summer students begin to feel the approach of a new school year, Cheerleaders going to camp, football ' weights to get in shape for the upcoming football season. s X S Q 3 ,1 S 5 X N 5 C i wits X NC. ie' S X, 5 'ik - it AA players beginning practice, and a nervous class of freshmen going to their first orientation are signs that summer is com- ing to a close. Although everyone complains about going back to school, most are reolly happy to be back because they can see friends and classmates they may not have seen all sum- mer. Along with oll of this is the excitement of rides ond gomes, ond the onnuol porodes which kick off the foirs. The post summer begon with the Gillespie County Peoch Jomboree on June 19 ond 20. Succeeding lost yeor's peoch royolty were queen Dono Burgp first duchess Dono Demolg second duchess Koren Jenschkeg ond third duchess Chrissy Schmidt. The following two weekends coptured the fun of the Luckenboch Worlds Foir on two weekends - June 26-26 ond July 3-5. The crowning of the Foir Queen come on August 21- 25. Kondis Kleir wos nomed queen, while Stocy Keller wos nomed first duchess, ond Judy Ressmon from Horper wos nomed second duchess. Alternotes were Donna Heinen, ond Roxon Schuordt. Senior Tommy Crenwelge soid, I liked the Peoch Jomboree, but it wos hord for me to be oble to spend time with my friends becouse I wos o contestont. We hod good seots, ond could see everything we wonted to. As for os summer goes, I look forword to the foirs os well os summer in generol, she odded.
