BRYAN WAI D, Superintendent Dear Seniors: There are many who would try and tell you that planning is of little value in these days of inter- national unrest. That to think of marriage and building a home is inviting unhappiness for tomorrow the young husband will be called into service and may pay his debt to society by returning crippled or giving his life on the battlefield. Others will tell you that planning a program of education and training which will require years is a rather use- less and hopeless thing. May the are the we suggest to you that boys and girls throughout ages have had to make the same decisions as you facing today The world at war does not change decisions to be made In time of peace and quiet, boys and girls have decided with the help of their parents and friends as to the wisdom of con tinuing their education and training Yesterday john and Mary decided they would train themselves for various professions Others decided they would enter business, but were bothered by the ghosts of doubt and uncertainty, and indecision Some decided to marry and build a home immediately Others were attracted to various businesses and professions Many were a little bit afraid of the pitfalls and dangers along their way All were reminded of 'these trying times You too must face and answer this question 'What am I going to do with my life? Let your answer be determined in the light of what you love best, and be persuaded to make your maximum efforts under favorable or unfavorable situations From such decisions and actions you will be able to make your greatest contribution to society Then wherever along the path of time that your activities shall cease you will rest with the knowledge that you have 'fought a good fight ' May your future be filled with years of pleasant work Sincerely Bryan Waid, Superintendent 144mini trativn PRATHER BROWN High School Principal
