sf 2 1 fo Myron has finally found his people 4 urefnnrd We here at Frederick College are surrounded by the sea - a sea without beginning, without end, a 'sea nebulous and unfathomable. lt is gray and dark, and there is uncertainty and doubt brooding within. But the sea calms, and night passes, and the sun rises and with it a new day, a new life. For the freshman, it is a time for eagerness and anticipation. A freshman is like he who has just awakened from a long sleep and is anxious to flex his muscles and to be on the march. For the sophomore, it is a time of reflection and quiet meditation. It is a lull in the college student's storm of affairs. It is the high noon of his college days - and the question arises: Where am l going? For the junior, it is a busy time - decisions to be made - deadlines to be met - endless worry - study, study, study! For the senior, his sun is setting, and he is almost ready to emerge into the world - a fresh, new, vigorous force. He is full of longing and hope. He is confident of what the future will hold in store for him, and, for the most part, he knows his place in that future. The DRIFTWOOD Staff knows that a moment once gone by can never be recaptured, but we have all en- deavored to stay time, by word and picture, by caption and quote, and to bind within this volume the hopes and fears, the joys and heartbreaks of the daily life that we at Frederick College have experienced and endured and profited from.
