Dr. Ernest R. Wood President of the College Ohio University, B.A. Ohio University, B.S. Clark University, M.A. University of Chicago, Ph.D. Frederick College was indeed fortunate to have a man of Ernest R. Wood's character and dedication as President. His leadership has indeed been a source of guidance and inspiration to the entire faculty and student body this year. Dr, Wood's educational background is quite impressive. He was graduated from Ohio University with honors. At Clark University, Dr, Wood received his Masters degree and later earned a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is a leader in American edu- cation and has served with distinction in all phases,-teaching in the elementary, secondary, and college levels. He has done noted research in the fields of evaluation and educational measurement, and authored textbooks for educational use. He has served in the Ohio State Department of Education and with the U. S. Con- stitution Sesquicentennial Commission in Washington, D. C. 1-4 Ellerd Miner Hulbert, Dean of the College On May l7, President Wood announced the appointment of Mr. Ellerd Miner Hulbert as the Academic Dean of Frederick College. Mr, Hulbert graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and has served as a military intelligence officer with the United States Air Force in Japan, He received his Masters of Art degree from Yale University in l957, and he remained at Yale for one year's advanced study. His major field of study has been history, with a special emphasis on the history and language of Russia. Dean Hulbert will have received his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Chicago. Mr, Hulbert has served for four years as the Acting Dean of Park College in Missouri, He received a leave of absence from this institution so that he might complete his doctoral work. While at Park College, he served as the director of a curriculum development program which initiated courses that were taught by professors ot the arts, humanities, and the natural and social sciences.
