WE SALUTE OUR PRESIDENT IN I-IIs FINAL YEAR AT FREDERICK 'Q 946 Dr. and Mrs. Alford and son Andy In the three years that Dr, Alford has been president of the college we have seen the Fred- erick Pioneers , as he labeled them, make great strides. This year Dr. Alford is leaving to accept a position as Superintendent of Schools for the City of Portsmouth. The College is losing a man who has Worked hard in a great labor of love and Who has done much to see Frederick take its place among the small colleges on the East Coast. It Was during his administration that we saw Frederick become accredited by the State of Vir- ginia, for which Dr. Alford deserves much of the credit. We are sorry to see him go but our love and prayers will be with him always as we know his will be with the college.
