Coach Stie and Coach Coop- er felt that the squad showed excellent sportsmanship and great enthusiasm in each of their contests. Much time was spent by the football squad in exercises to build up strength, agility, and quickness. 65

FRESHMAN EAGLES GAIN GRID EXPERIENCE The 1971 football season held for the ninth grade team i overwhelming victories, a i heart-breaking loss, and two tough ties. Recording an over- all record of four wins, one loss, and two ties, our ninth grade team improved consist- ently as they progressed through the season. Coach Mc- Kay and Coach McGrew felt that the team exhibited hustle, de- termination, and spirit during the entire season. The speed of the ninth grade team kept this Andrew Lewis squad on the defensive all afternoon. The contest ended in a 6-6 tie.
