A FEELING GROWS . . . An almost undefinable feeling grew among F.H.S. students during the 1968-69 school year. It had almost every emotion and a bit of every student's personality. The feeling contained the joys of success and the sorrows of defeat--the hopes of tomorrow and the dreams of yesterday. In this feeling, there was a sense of unity in activities, a sense of pride in academic achievement, a sense of spirit in sports, and a sense of hope for the future of F.H.S. students. Growth at F.H.S. was . . . ... A moment of frantic study and long awaited sectional victory. ... A big thrill as the final curtain descended on the class play. . . . The warmth and fun of friendship and the tears of a big defeat. All this and much more made up the feeling, the atmosphere, the unseeable abstraction of life, at F.H.S.

Feelings of friendship grew as F.H.S. students walk hand in hand. The feelings of students varied as the days and weeks went by. They showed patriotism for their country one day, the next, the love for friendships. One night screaming their lungs out for a victory, the next attending Christmas services. Sometimes they were dis- couraged and ready to give up, but at other times they couldn't have been beaten by anything. There are both advantages and disad- vantages to small schools, but the feel- ing of closeness and spirit that developed in '68-'69 at Frankton, would never be possible at a larger school. Students Develop Feelings of Friendship, One of the many duties of hall monitors, is raising the flag each morning. First period monitors Brenda Hutcheson, and Jan Heniser, enjoy the early morning task. Veteran cheerleader, Jan Heniser, with eight years of backing the Eagles, continued to show outstanding spirit throughout her senior year. 4
